We sat down with Sven van Haver, CEO of Orbital Eye, to learn how they’re using satellites and AI to protect critical infrastructure across the globe. 🌍
Kicking off our new 7-Question Spotlight Series with Orbital Eye - a Dutch company changing the way we protect the most critical infrastructure, from Oil / Gas / Water pipelines to power grids and environmental zones.

1. What problem is Orbital Eye Solving?
"Critical Infrastructure is still monitored by outdated helicopter and vehicle patrols. Orbital Eye replaces them with satellite and AI-powered monitoring that is safer, scalable and sustainable."
2. What is COSMIC-EYE?
"COSMIC-EYE is Orbital Eye’s satellite powered monitoring platform. It delivers early warnings of third-party threats, helping operators prevent accidents, reduce monitoring costs, and protect the environment."
3. What application area are you the most excited about?
"Putting the power of space technology into the hands of field operators. With affordable monitoring, we can expand beyond high-risk assets to safeguard all essential networks."
4. What has been your most meaningful milestone so far?
"Our biggest milestone has been the adoption of COSMIC-EYE by blue-chip operators. It marks the shift from innovation to becoming the new standard in infrastructure monitoring."
5. What impact does space-enabled monitoring have on sustainability?
"Space-enabled monitoring cuts emissions by up to 98% compared to helicopters and vehicles. Satellites provide years of fuel-free monitoring on a global scale."
