Australian space tech company Gilmour Space Technologies has raised USD ~$150 million in a Series E funding round to accelerate the next phase of growth in Australia’s domestic space capability.
The round was jointly led by the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation(NRFC) and Hostplus, with participation from Future Fund, Blackbird, Funds SA, HESTA, NGS Super, Main Sequence, QIC, and Brighter Super.
Founded on the Gold Coast, Gilmour Space is building an end-to-end sovereign space ecosystem spanning rocket and satellite design, manufacturing, testing, and launch operations.
The company achieved a major milestone in July 2025 with its first launch attempt of the Eris 1 orbital rocket, a 23-meter, 30-tonne vehicle powered by hybrid propulsion and composite nozzle technologies.
Gilmour’s progress also includes the successful on-orbit operation of its 100-kilogram ElaraSat satellite platform and the establishment of Australia’s first licensed commercial orbital launch facility in North Queensland, laying the foundation for routine domestic orbital access.
Proceeds from the round will support continued development and qualification of the Eris launch vehicle, expansion of rocket and satellite manufacturing, upgrades to test and launch infrastructure, and significant workforce growth to meet rising global demand for launch services.
With this raise, Gilmour Space becomes Australia’s first spacetech unicorn 🚀
