Sierra Space has secured a contract worth up to $798 million from the U.S. Space Development Agency to build 18 missile warning and tracking satellites for the Golden Dome missile defense architecture.

Sierra Space has been awarded a firm fixed-price Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreement by the U.S. Space Development Agency (SDA) with a potential value of $798 million to develop 18 missile warning, tracking, and defense satellites for the Accelerated Missile Defense Tranche 3 (AMDT3) tracking layer.

The AMDT3 program is part of the Space Development Agency's effort to expand the United States' space-based missile detection and tracking architecture through proliferated satellite constellations.

The 18 satellites will be built on Sierra Space's Horizon spacecraft platform, part of the company's Eclipse satellite family.

The platform is already being used for the SDA's Tranche 2 Tracking Layer program, where Sierra Space has completed the builds for all 18 spacecraft and is preparing for qualification and system verification testing.

CEO Daniel Jablonsky said the award reflects the company's ability to rapidly design, manufacture, and integrate national security spacecraft while delivering cost-effective solutions for critical defense missions.
