CesiumAstro Acquires 1Aardvark to Expand Autonomous Defense Capabilities

CesiumAstro has acquired 1Aardvark, a Virginia-based company specializing in mission software, algorithms, and systems engineering for national defense programs

The acquisition expands CesiumAstro’s capabilities in autonomous and resilient space systems, combining 1Aardvark’s software expertise with CesiumAstro’s spacecraft, communications, and computing technologies.

1Aardvark develops mission software and distributed systems for applications including missile defense and missile tracking. Its technologies are designed to allow systems to coordinate and execute missions in contested or disconnected environments, including situations where communications are limited or disrupted.

CesiumAstro founder and CEO Shey Sabripour said 1Aardvark’s software capabilities complement the company’s existing hardware and will help it deliver more resilient defense systems.

1Aardvark President Ryan K. said joining CesiumAstro will allow the company to apply its mission software and edge-processing technologies across a broader range of space and defense programs.

The acquisition follows CesiumAstro’s purchases of AI company Vidrovr and semiconductor company Jariet Technologies earlier in 2026.
