Varda has announced a $187 million Series C fundraise to accelerate the development of space-based pharmaceutical manufacturing. This latest round was led by Natural Capital and Shrug Capital, with strong participation from Lux Capital, Founders Fund, Peter Thiel, and Khosla Ventures. The company’s total funding now stands at $329 million.

Funds will scale Varda’s microgravity-enabled drug manufacturing, aiming to deliver the world’s first commercially viable pharmaceuticals made in space.

Since its first mission in 2023, Varda has completed three successful launch and return missions, with a fourth capsule currently in orbit and a fifth planned for later this year.

“With this capital, Varda will continue to increase our flight cadence and build out the pharmaceutical lab that will deliver the world's first microgravity-enabled drug formulation,” said CEO Will Bruey

This fundraise marks a major milestone for commercial space manufacturing and the future of medicine.
