Spaceport infrastructure is critical to support the booming Aero/Space industry. All across the country new facilities have propped up to grab a slice of the current and future demand for space launches. Some commercial companies already call a few of them “home”:
Alaska
- Pacific Spaceport Complex (Kodiak Island): Launches for polar/orbital trajectories. Launch site for multiple Astra rockets.
California
- Mojave Air & Space Port: Focus on horizontal launches (spaceplanes). Home of Masten Space Systems
- Vandenberg Space Force Base: Dual-capability, Vertical/horizontal launches. Hosts SpaceX Falcon 9 and government missions.
Colorado
- Colorado Air and Space Port: Specializes in "Concept X" horizontal launch vehicles
Florida
- Cape Canaveral Space Force Station: Historic vertical launch complex. Shared by SpaceX, United Launch Alliance (ULA), and Blue Origin
- Kennedy Space Center: NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration flagship orbital launch site
New Mexico
- Spaceport America: World's first purpose-built commercial spaceport. Supports vertical/horizontal launches. Home to Virgin Galactic and UP AEROSPACE INC
Oklahoma
- Oklahoma Spaceport: Features unique FAA-approved space flight corridor
Texas
- Houston Spaceport: Emerging hub with $18.8M infrastructure upgrade
- Starbase (Boca Chica, TX): SpaceX's Starship development/launch complex
- Launch Site One (West Texas): Blue Origin's New Shepard launch facility
Virginia
- Wallops / Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport: Rocket Lab U.S. launch site for Electron rockets and NASA's primary sounding rocket launch site. Operated by Virginia Spaceport Authority
