Quantum Space acquires Phase Four propulsion tech to boost maneuverability and defense mission capabilities.
Quantum Space has acquired Phase Four’s multi-mode propulsion technology, strengthening its ability to deliver highly maneuverable, persistent, and cost-efficient platforms for national security, civil, and commercial applications.
The acquisition includes Phase Four’s Hawthorne, CA integration and test facility, capable of producing up to 100 engines annually.
Phase Four’s propulsion system combines chemical and electric modes, enabling both high thrust and high efficiency for missions ranging from LEO to cislunar space.
The deal aligns with Quantum’s Golden Dome missile defense ambitions and enhances the capabilities of its Ranger spacecraft, a long-life, multi-orbit platform designed to host payloads for missile defense, satellite swarms, sensors, and on-orbit refueling.
For Phase Four, the transaction accelerates its path into defense missions while ensuring its technology scales into the missions that matter most.
