Firefly Aerospace is expanding its Texas campus with new production facilities, cleanrooms, and an innovation lab to scale lunar lander and spacecraft manufacturing.

Firefly Aerospace Doubles Size of Texas Spacecraft Facilities to Scale Lunar and Defense Missions.

Firefly Aerospace is expanding its Central Texas operations with a new headquarters, larger spacecraft production facilities, and a dedicated innovation lab as the company scales production for lunar, defense, and commercial missions.

The expansion doubles Firefly’s Cedar Park campus to 144,000 square feet, supporting spacecraft assembly, testing, mission control, avionics production, and engineering operations.

The company also unveiled a new “Gloworks” innovation lab focused on propulsion, robotics, carbon composites, and advanced manufacturing technologies including 3D printing.

A major part of the expansion includes a new cleanroom funded through a Texas Space Commission grant.

The facility is four times larger than Firefly’s existing cleanroom and is designed to support serial production of the company’s Blue Ghost lunar landers and Elytra orbital vehicles.

COO Ramon Sanchez said the company is building the infrastructure needed to support multiple lunar missions per year as NASA pushes toward a long-term Moon Base initiative and broader commercial lunar economy.

CTO Shea Ferring added that the new Gloworks lab will help accelerate development of next-generation technologies ranging from lunar survival systems to spacecraft deorbiting solutions.

The announcement comes as Firefly continues scaling its vertically integrated Texas operations, including upgrades to its Rocket Ranch manufacturing and engine testing facilities to increase production cadence and support growing demand across launch, lunar, and orbital programs.
