Firefly Aerospace Strengthens Defense Capabilities with $855M Acquisition of SciTec

Firefly Aerospace has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SciTec, Inc. , a leader in advanced national security technologies, in a transaction valued at approximately $855 million. The deal includes $300 million in cash and $555 million in Firefly shares issued at $50 per share.

The acquisition will expand Firefly’s defense and space operations by integrating SciTec’s mission-proven software analytics, AI-enabled data processing, and multi-domain threat tracking capabilities. These tools will enhance Firefly’s growing portfolio of launch, lunar, and in-space services, enabling more responsive and software-defined defense missions.

With strong contracts supporting U.S. defense and intelligence agencies, including a recent $259 million Space Force award, SciTec brings critical expertise in missile warning and tracking, ISR, and space domain awareness.

Once the acquisition closes later this year, SciTec will continue operating as a Firefly subsidiary under current CEO James Lisowski.

This marks a major milestone for Firefly as it continues to scale from commercial launch and lunar missions to fully integrated national security solutions.
