Stoke Space Raises $1 Billion Series E as It Targets First Nova Launch in 2027

Stoke Space has raised $1 billion in Series E funding, bringing total capital to $2.3 billion, to advance its reusable Nova launch vehicles and prepare for its first orbital flight.

Stoke Space has raised $1 billion in an initial closing of its Series E financing round, bringing the company’s total capital raised to $2.3 billion. The funding will support development of its fully reusable launch systems, preparations for the first orbital flight of its Nova Pathfinder vehicle, expanded manufacturing and launch infrastructure, and development of the larger Nova Block 2 rocket.

The Series E round was co-led by Point72 Ventures and Spark Capital, with participation from General Innovation Capital Partners, Glade Brook Capital Partners LLC, US Innovation Technology, Washington Harbour Partners LP, Woven Capital, Y Combinator, and other new and existing investors.

Point72 Ventures Partner Chris Morales said Stoke has demonstrated significant technical progress and the potential to develop a reusable launch system capable of operating at industrial scale.

Spark Capital General Partner Clay Fisher similarly cited the company’s progress toward fully reusable launch and increased customer capacity.

Stoke’s Nova Pathfinder is approaching its first flight and is targeted for an initial orbital launch in early 2027. The vehicle is designed to demonstrate Nova’s core architecture, full-reusability technologies, and operational systems while carrying payloads to orbit.

The company is also expanding the capabilities of its launch roadmap with Nova Block 2, a larger vehicle designed to deliver up to 15 metric tons to low Earth orbit using a 5-meter payload fairing. Its first launch is targeted for 2029.

Co-founder and CEO Andy Lapsa said the investment will allow Stoke to scale toward the launch availability and flight cadence required by customers. He described full reusability as essential to lowering costs and increasing launch availability, while emphasizing that Pathfinder is intended to validate the most challenging elements of the architecture before those technologies are scaled into Nova Block 2 and higher-frequency operations.
