BlackSky Secures ~$30M Assured Contract from International Defense Customer, Expanding Gen-3 ISR Adoption

BlackSky has been awarded a nearly $30 million, one-year Assured contract by an international defense customer, marking its largest annual Assured deal to date.

The agreement follows a rapid six-month progression from an initial pilot program to a full-scale subscription, highlighting growing demand for real-time, space-based tactical ISR capabilities.

The contract is centered on BlackSky’s next-generation Gen-3 satellite constellation, which recently reached general availability following the successful deployment of its fourth satellite.

The customer will access 35-centimeter resolution imagery via the company’s Spectra® platform, enabling dynamic tasking and AI-driven analytics for tracking vehicles, aircraft, and maritime activity.

With increasing international uptake, the company continues to position its Gen-3 constellation and AI-enabled analytics as a high-margin, scalable intelligence solution for defense and security operations.
